Mummys Money Saving Tips #2

Here are some more money saving tips I have found recently.

1) Bulk cook meals, For example if I ever make Chilli or Lobby things like that are easy to freeze. I always make extra and freeze it so that there is something ready to heat up and eat in the freezer to save buying a take away or buying those ready made meals.

2) Only take money out of the bank when you need it. I use to pay for everything on my card and you easily loose track of how much money you actually spend. Now I try to only draw out £10 - £20 a week and keep it in my purse so I can try and keep an eye on how much I spend and where I spend my money.

3) I have also recently seen a online banking tip called "Rounding Down" Say you have £324.56 in your account you transfer £4.56 in to a different savings account. So you round the balance down to the nearest 10 or 5. I am going to try this out once a week when I get paid for a month and see how much money I manage to save.

4) Shop cheaply- Don't be a shop snob, Places like Home bargains and B&M are great at getting brand products at a fraction of Boots and supermarket prices. Whether its food products or toiletries or home cleaning products.

5) Use cheaper nappies. Although we have only just started using nappies we have been using nappies from Aldi, I have heard lots of good reviews for them and for a pack of 24 nappies at £1.99 you can't go wrong really can you.

Mummys Money Saving Tips. #1

As you all know when your on Maternity leave your wage drops, Mine has dropped by half which obviously is now leaving us rather stretched. So now more than ever we need to watch the pennies especially as we are about to become parents to a new baby boy.
So I thought I would start a little series of money saving tips that I come across as they may be some help to others.

1) Plan your budget HONESTLY. Account for things like days out, new clothes etc - it's better to over estimate and then cut down than to budget and then go over.

2) Always plan meals and write a shopping list. Less food waste makes you feel good too!

3) Stock up when items are on offer - laundry/cleaning products and non perishable food items are great for this. My dad always keeps an eye on when beans are on offer 4 tins for a £1 and always lets me know I sometimes think he's slightly obsessed hehe.

4) Every couple of weeks/Months have a clear out anything you haven't used for a while stick on ebay, Facebook groups or Car boot. I have already managed to sell quite a few bits. Also with a growing baby there will be lots of clothes that they will grow out of quite quick so why not sell them of course keep any sentimental items but other bits can be sold to make some money for new bits.

5) Sign up to various baby or parenting clubs or voucher websites as you can get some really good vouchers. Just remember vouchers only work if you actually need the item you are getting money off. So don't go mad buying things because they are cheap when you don't actually need them.

Saturday Snaps

I am hoping with my fingers tightly crossed that this Saturday will be my last Saturday without my little boy. So I have been having a pamper session as I can't really be bothered to do anything else :)

This isn't what I have ate today but I had a scrummy curry last night for my tea unfortunately it didn't move my son :(

Pamper time after a nice relaxing bath. I love these scents they are relaxing grown up scents.

My overdue bump come on baby boy we want to meet you NOW!!

Fat fingers, I miss my wedding ring even though i'm wearing it round my neck I want it back on my finger.

Hand massage to try and help with the puffiness.

Candles to relax and fill the room with sweet smells :)

I tried Raspberry leaf tea again but I still can't stomach the taste it is not nice :(

39 Weeks

So today marks 39 weeks pregnant and I am sooo ready for this baby to show up now. I am fed up of being like a tank now everything is getting such hard work, Even walking upstairs is leaving me out of breath! Also sleeping is getting so difficult now my legs and hips ache so much during the night I am constantly tossing and turning which obviously means I'm not sleeping properly and I'm also keeping my hubby awake so now one of us normally ends up on the settee when we have had enough of each other hehe.

I went to see my midwife this monday just gone and she found a trace of protein in my wee and I told her about my slight puffiness in my fingers and toes and she told me to keep an eye on things as it could turn in to pre eclampsia which was slightly worrying but she said its probably nothing to worry about unless things change for the worse. It feels like my pregnancy has been perfect up until the last couple of weeks :(

I have started to get really impatient now I just want him to be here but I find myself wondering how will I know when I am actually in labour like what do contractions actually feel like, I have read on lots of forums women saying when they start you will know but then I have read women describing them in lots of different ways I just don't know what to expect. Do they feel like braxton hicks but worse?
Over the last couple of days I have been feeling lots of pressure down below kinda like a sharp pain like he's about to fall out TMI sorry hehe.

We are all ready now for our baby boy to arrive, our bags are packed, all of his clothes and bedding have been washed and ironed ready for him to wear. So come onnnn little boy come and meet your mummy and daddy
