Yummy Mummy - Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation Review

I have a love hate relationship with foundation I love wearing it but I HATE shopping for it. I am paler than pale so trying to find a foundation that suits my colouring without making me look like an orangey mess is quite difficult. I was going to buy Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation as I had heard quite a few good things about it, but when I ventured in to Superdrug to buy it they didn't have any in my colour. As I couldn't be bothered to go to Boots I just decided to get something else.

After perusing lots of other brands and not really seeing anything that took my fancy I went back to the Rimmel stand and looked at this foundation.  I hadn't heard anything about it before I bought it so I was buying it blind which is strange for me as I hadn't done it since I first discovered blogs.

For once I wasn't the lightest shade in a foundation! Shade 100 is like really really pale too pale for me so I picked 101 I know there isn't a great difference. As it says on the bottle it definitely is Match Perfection. There were quite a lot of different shades and quite a lot of pale shades so maybe if like me you are on the pale side this foundation will suit you.

I thought I would include a swatch for you so that you can see the colour, this is pretty much true to life I know it doesn't look like my colour there but it is once you rub it in.
It has quite a thin/runny consistency and it gives you quite a light coverage but you can build it up if you wish. If like me though you don't like the feeling of having lots of make up on maybe this would be a good foundation for you.
As it is quite running I found it didn't apply well with my current foundation brush so I have been using my fingers and to be honest it works so much better. I've just been using my brush right at the end to buff it in to my skin.

This was £6.99 which I think is quite a good price a foundation. I am very impressed with it and would definitely recommend it if like me you are pale and struggle with shades and you want a light coverage.

Have you tried this? what did you think?

  1. I have heard loads about this... I'm still fixed on the No7 one that I had colour matched in Boots in Hanley.. I always find foundation so hard to shop for too! You think you have found the perfect colour and then you start wearing it and the colour is totally off!
You will have to keep us updated as to how you are finding :)
